Worked for a few hours in the evening today,
I met with Catralitos, and we decided on a milestone for Sunday, having one fight against one enemy, when that basic enemy is defeated the room restarts. This milestone will last players only a few seconds to complete, but since it will feature the game's core, (to stun and enemy with a slide or dive kick and then follow up with a shot) it will be crucial to fine tune this interaction to its fullest potential. We want players to be able to play that same room over and over and see if they manage to get a satisfying rhythm for their combos.
On the programming side, I implemented the shooting, complete with knockback to the player.
